The invention relates to a composition comprising a) at least one orthodiphenol derivative, b) at least one oxidizing agent, c) at least one clay, and d) at least one basifying agent； a process for dyeing keratinous fibers by treating said fibers using ingredients a), b), c) and d) and their use for dyeing keratinous fibers. This capillary coloring process makes it possible to obtain better, more homogeneous, chromatic, stubborn colorations that do not alter the cosmetic properties of keratin fibers from orthodiphenol extract, especially natural extracts.L'invention a pour objet une composition comprenant a) au moins un dérivé d'orthodiphénol, b) au moins un agent oxydant, c) au moins une argile, et d) au moins un agent alcalinisant ； un procédé de coloration de fibres kératiniques par traitement desdites fibres mettant en œuvre les ingrédients a), b), c) et d) et leur utilisation pour colorer les fibres kératiniques.
