The present invention relates to an artificial bam cement material which comprises at least two ceramics, one or more drugs, and at least one biodegradable polymer in the powder component. The powder component and an aqueous liquid component are mixed together to· form a cement slurry that.renders the paste effective for injection with a mam1ally operated syringe and capable of hardening in vivo. The double barrier (polymer and calcium sulphate dihydrate) against the drug release from ceramic granules makes it suitable for use in the repair of infected or aseptic bone defects in a wide variety of orthopaedic and oral/maxillofacial abnormalities.
