A set of artificial teeth for a denture comprises a maxillary unit and a mandibular unit, with the set of artificial teeth set up in lingualised or balanced occlusion with cusp/fossa dimensions and relationships of the teeth enabling interchangability between the two occlusion schemes by the method of softening wax or resin and rotating upper buccal cusps around upper palatal cusps which remain within a lower centric stop. In lingualised occlusion, the palatal cusp of the upper 4 fits into the distal fossa of the lower 4, the palatal cusp of the upper 5 fits into the distal fossa of the lower 5, the mesial palatal cusp of the upper 6 fits into the central fossa of the lower 6, the distal palatal cusp of the upper 6 fits onto the marginal ridge of the lower 6 and the mesial palatal cusp of the upper 7 fits into the central fossa of the lower 7. Methods suitable for producing a denture comprising the set artificial teeth include changing the alternate occlusal scheme if necessary, either by the method above or alternatively by performing the step digitally.
