The invention relates to a biodecontamination gel consisting of a colloid solution including 5 to 30 wt% preferably 5 to 25% and more preferably 8 to 20 wt% of at least one inorganic thickening agent relative to the weight of the gel of an active biodecontamination agent consisting of the combination of an inorganic base selected from among alkaline metal hydroxides alkaline earth metal hydroxides and the mixtures thereof and of an oxidizing agent that is stable in a basic medium and selected from among permanganates persulfates ozone hypochlorites and the mixtures thereof the inorganic base being present in an amount of 0.05 to 10 mol/L of gel preferably in an amount of 0.1 to 5 mol/L of gel and the oxidizing agent stable in a basic medium being present in an amount of 0.05 to 5 mol/L of gel preferably 0.1 to 2 mol/L of gel optionally of at least one surfactant consisting of 0.1 to 2 wt% relative to the weight of the gel and the rest of solvent and gel not containing superabsorbent polymer. The invention also relates to a biodecontamination method using said gel.
