The present invention relates to a lesion area detecting device and a method thereof. A medical image is displayed and an area is expanded based on a designated spot in a lesion area of a corresponding medical image to detect a boundary of the lesion area. Therefore, inaccuracy caused when a person judges a lesion area can be reduced.본 발명은 병변 영역 검출 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 의료 영상을 표시하고 해당 의료 영상의 병변 영역 내에 지정된 지점을 기준으로 영역을 확장하여 병변 영역의 경계를 검출하며, 이를 통해 사람이 병변 영역을 판단함에 따른 부정확함을 개선할 수 있다.
