A brewing device (100) may be used to brew coffee or other brewable substances such as tea. The brewing device may include a housing (110) and one or more handles (120) for attaching the housing to a beverage container, such as a mug. The handles (120) may be moved between a stored and deployed position. The housing (110) may be porous and include a plurality of perforations (112) on each side. There may be about 70 perforations, with an even number distributed on each side of the housing, and the perforations may have a diameter of about 2.33mm so as to permit the flow of oils and other elements of coffee which might otherwise be filtered through the housing material.
