PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide materials effective for ameliorating high order brain functions such as cognitive flexibility, executive function and attention control.SOLUTION: The invention provides a brain function ameliorating agent comprising at least one chlorogenic acid and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof as an effective component, which is ingested in an amount of 10-10000 mg per day. In particular, the brain function ameliorating agent suppresses or ameliorates decline of cognition flexibility, executive function and attention control function, processing speed, reaction time or cognitive functional speed.EFFECT: The agent of the invention can ameliorate higher brain functions such as cognition flexibility, executive function and attention control, as well as decline in these functions due to aging.
