PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trocar assembly configured to provide visual observation during penetration of body tissue.SOLUTION: An obturator assembly 12 includes a housing 16 configured for operable engagement by a user, a sleeve 20 extending from the housing, defining a longitudinal axis and proximal and distal ends and having a longitudinal lumen, an image passing member 28 positioned adjacent to the distal end of the sleeve, a penetrating member adapted for longitudinal movement relative to the image passing member through a longitudinal stroke of movement, and an adjustment member operatively connected to the penetrating member.
