The present invention relates to an intraocular lens with a main lens part anda recessedpart, having a positive optical power with respect to the optical power of themain lens.The outer circumference and the surface of the main lens define an imaginarymain lensthat, together with the main lens, would have at least partially provided amain lens outercircumference and surface in case the recessed part would have been absent.Therecessed part expands remotely from the main optical axis in an outward radialdirectionto an outer recess boundary which extends radially away from the optical axisalong orbeyond the imaginary main lens outer circumference. The intraocular lens wasfound toreduce one or more night time visual symptoms such as halos and glare or flarerelated toan intra ocular lens comprising a main lens part and a recessed part.
