The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating Th1 or Th2-mediated immune diseases, comprising 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy cinnamaldehyde (4H3MC), as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy cinnamaldehyde (4H3MC) of the present invention has effects of inhibiting the activity of T cells without inducing the death of T cells.
