A system (100) for manufacturing a catheter includes at least first and second controllable rate material feeders (32,34,36) that feed at least first and second materials ( 41,43) into a temperature-controlled mixer (50) to form a compound material that varies in flexibility and/or strength with the respective first and second materials (41,43) and material feed rates.
