PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for determining a cardiac function from video images recorded for a region of the skin exposed part of a target subject.SOLUTION: A video of a region of a skin exposed part is recorded using a video camera that records brightness for pixels over visible channels and an IR camera that measures pixel intensity values in target wavelength ranges. The pixel intensity values are processed in order to generate a vascular binary mask that indicates pixel locations corresponding to vascular pathways. IR images are registered with corresponding data from the cameras visible channels such that pixels that correspond to the vascular pattern can be isolated in each frame of the video of visible color data.
