PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cord holding device for a brushcutter in which the cord attaching work is facilitated and also a cutting range is wide, and the cord is hard to be damaged.SOLUTION: A cord holding device 10 for a brushcutter has an internal body 11 for winding a cord 20, an external body 12 for covering an outer circumference of the cord 20 wound to the internal body 11, and a bottom 13 for connecting the lower end of the internal body 11 with the lower end of the external body 12. A cord outlet 12a for drawing the end of the cord 20 wound to the internal body 11 to the outside of the external body 12 is provided to the external body 12, and the upper end of the cord outlet 12a is made an open end reaching the upper end of the external body 12. Preferably, the cord holding device 10 for the brushcutter may be provided with cord pressing means 16 for pressing the end of the cord 20 drawn out from the cord outlet 12a. Accordingly, the cord 20 can be made to be hard to come out from the cord outlet 12a.
