A bone anchor 10 for limiting the separation of two bones, for example in a canine knee, comprises a head 11 having a socket for engaging a tool and a shaft extending from the head 11 to a tip 14. The shaft comprises a threaded section 13 and an intermediate section 12 located between the head 11 and the threaded section 13. An aperture 15 extends through the intermediate section 12. The head 11 has a larger diameter than the intermediate section 12. The bone anchor is for use with a looped suture which is inserted through the aperture and looped over the head (see figure 13b). Also disclosed is a kit of parts (40, figure 16) comprising two bone anchors and a looped suture 30, and a method for limiting the separation of two parts using the bone anchors.
