The aim of the invention is to create a device for reversibly attaching an implantto an eye, which allows the implant to be easily attached to and removed or explantedfrom the eye again. Said aim is achieved by a device for attaching an implant bymeans of a nail (1) that is provided with a substantially elongate shaft, the implantcomprising an implant film (4) for contacting living tissue or nerves in the visualsystem of the eye. The implant film is fitted with an opening (5) through whichat least part of the nail can be guided. The invention is characterized in thatthe device encompasses a holding element (10) which can be disposed on the shaftof the nail such that the holding element contacts the shaft of the nail and is fixedto the nail in a mounted position. The implant is reliably attached and can be removedfrom the retina again by detaching the holding element or retainer, without alsohaving to remove the nail that is anchored to the eye.
