Radiation protector (1) for protecting a body part of a persen from x-ray radiation comprising a shield pad (11) forshielding the body part to be protected, in which the shield pad camprises a layer of shield material for attenuating the flux of an electromagnetic radiation and a tastener (1 0) for fastening the shield pad in abutting engagement with the body part to be protected. The tastener camprises a resilient U-shaped bracket (1 0) having a first end ( 18) which is connected to the shield pad ( 11 and a secend end ( 19) which is situated opposite the first end (18) for engaging an area opposed the body part to be protected, such that in use the body part to be protected is situated in between the two ends (18, 19) of the bracket (10) when the radiation protector (1) is clamped to the body part.
