A multiphasic contraceptive dosing regimen in females of child-bearing age, comprises administration of an oral combination drug formulation comprising progestin and estrogen at effective doses that are gradually increasing, between phases of the regimen, provided that the ratio of a daily dose of progestin to a daily dose of estrogen is maintained at a constant level during the entire dosing period. The multiphasic regimen can be biphasic or triphasic.Cette invention concerne un schéma de contraception multiphase pour la femme en âge de procréer, ledit schéma consistant à administrer une préparation orale associant un progestatif et un œstrogène à des doses efficaces et croissantes entre les phases du schéma, le rapport dose quotidienne du progestatif sur dose quotidienne de l'œstrogène étant maintenu à un niveau constant pendant toute la période d'administration. Le schéma multiphase peut contenir deux phases ou trois phases.
