PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing, in which a switch mechanism for switching a drag mechanism from an operation state to a non-operation state is disposed and which can exhibit a sufficient drag force without enlarging or weighing a portion around a spool.SOLUTION: The spinning reel for the fishing includes the spool 3 set to a spool shaft 3a, a rotor 2 which can be rotated by the winding operation of a handle to wind a line on the spool through a line guide, and the switch mechanism 30 which is disposed between the spool 3 and the spool shaft 3a and switches the spool into a drag-operating state or a free state.
