An apparatus for applying a desired amount of mechanical abrasion to plants is provided. The apparatus includes a base, a brush and an elevation device for maintaining the base at desirable height. The base has a first longitudinal axis and a plurality of grooves, the grooves being oriented approximately perpendicular to the first longitudinal axis. The brush has a second longitudinal axis and a plurality of bristles and/or blades extending outwardly from the second longitudinal axis. The brush is attached to the apparatus such that the second longitudinal axis is substantially parallel to the first longitudinal axis and the brush is rotatable about the second longitudinal axis. The brush is spaced from the base such that the plurality of bristles engage the plurality of grooves. The base is adjustable enabling the operator to move the base closer or further from the rotating brush/blades.L'invention concerne un appareil permettant d'appliquer sur des plantes un niveau souhaitée d'abrasion mécanique. L'appareil comprend un support, une brosse et un dispositif d'élévation destiné à maintenir le support à la hauteur voulue. Le support présente un premier axe longitudinal et une pluralité de rainures, les rainures étant orientées approximativement perpendiculairement au premier axe longitudinal. La brosse présente un second axe longitudinal et une pluralité de poils et/ou de lames se prolongeant vers l'extérieur depuis le second axe longitudinal. La brosse est fixée à l'appareil, de façon à ce que le second axe longitudinal soit essentiellement parallèle au premier axe longitudinal et la brosse peut tourner autour du second axe longitudinal. La brosse est située à une certaine distance du support de façon à ce que les multiples poils viennent se loger dans les multiples rainures. Le support est réglable, ce qui permet à l'opérateur de rapprocher ou d'éloigner le support de la brosse/des lames rotatives.
