An algal-derived consumable comprises: (i) an algal biomass derived from at least one species of algae, such as Klebsormidium； and (ii) optionally at least one additional ingredient, such as flavoring ingredients, colorants, seasonings, food additives, food components, and nutrients. The consumable may comprise a dietary supplement, a food ingredient or a finished food product.
