PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hypocholesterolemic agent exhibiting high cholesterol lowering action, a neutral fat lowering agent exhibiting high neutral fat lowering action, and a phospholipid lowering agent exhibiting high phospholipid lowering action.
SOLUTION: The hypocholesterolemic agent is composed of a hydrophilic component derived from citrus fruit or eriocitrin, the hydrophilic component contains a polyphenol preferably as a main component, and the hydrophilic component is preferably composed of a polar solvent extractable component obtained by extracting the citrus fruit or its constitution component with a polar solvent. The neutral fat lowering agent and the phospholipid lowering agent are composed of, similar to the hypocholesterolemic agent, a hydrophilic component derived from citrus fruit or eriocitrin, and the hydrophilic component is preferably composed of a polar solvent extractable component obtained by extracting the citrus fruit or its constitution component with a polar solvent.
