PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide use of a compound in the preparation of a medicament for the treatment and/or prevention of osteoporosis, bone loss, bone resorption, bone fractures, metastatic bone disease and/or disorders related to cathepsin functioning in a mammal.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a cathepsin K inhibitor, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, or a mixture thereof. The present invention also provides use of the cathepsin K inhibitor, or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, or the mixture thereof, in the preparation of a medicant, characterized by a single-dose AUC0-168 of about 2.00 to 80.0 &mu；M/hr and a Cmin of about 10 nM to about 200 nM, as an oral unit dose for inhibiting bone resorption in a mammal in need thereof according to a continuous schedule having a dosage interval of once weekly, biweekly, twice monthly or once monthly.【課題】哺乳動物の骨粗鬆症、骨減量、骨吸収、骨折、転移性骨疾患及び／又はカテプシン機能関連障害の治療及び／又は予防用の医薬の製造のための化合物の使用。【解決手段】カテプシンＫインヒビター又は医薬的に許容されるその塩又はそれらの混合物。週一回、隔週一回、月二回又は月一回の投薬間隔を有する連続スケジュールに従ってその必要がある哺乳動物の骨吸収を阻害する経口単位用量の形態で、一回用量が約２．００－８０．０μＭ／時のＡＵＣ０－１６８及び約１０ｎＭ－約２００ｎＭのＣｍｉｎである医薬を製造するためのカテプシンＫインヒビター又は医薬的に許容されるその塩ま又はそれらの混合物の使用。【選択図】なし
