This invention provides DNA markers unique to a plant of the Erianthus spp. and a method for selecting a plant of the Erianthus spp. or a hybrid variety thereof using the DNA markers. In particular, the DNA marker comprises at least one nucleotide sequence selected from the group consisting of the nucleotide sequences as shown in SEQ ID NOs: 1 to 3, 5, and 6 or a nucleotide sequence derived therefrom by substitution, addition, deletion, or insertion of one or several nucleotides, and the method for selecting a plant of the Erianthus spp. or a hybrid variety thereof comprises detecting the DNA marker or a part thereof in a DNA sample obtained from a test plant are provided.
