PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce artifacts caused in collection of image data corresponding to a long TE (echo time).SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes an imaging means and an image processing means. The imaging means generates a plurality of image data of one imaging area by collecting a plurality of magnetic resonance signal from the imaging area at a plurality of different echo times. The image processing means generates maximum pixel value image data by extracting maximum pixel values at the same position of at least a part of the imaging area from the plurality of image data, or generates minimum pixel value image data by extracting minimum pixel values therefrom.
