An alarm system (15) of a medical device (1) comprises a processor device (150) constituted to determine whether a predefined alarm condition is present, a signalling device (153) for outputting an alarm signal (S) in case the predefined alarm condition is present, and a storage device (151). Herein, the processor device (150) is constituted to determine a response time (T) between a first time (t1) associated with the beginning of the outputting of the alarm signal (S) and a second time (t2) associated with a response of a user to the alarm condition, wherein the storage device (151) is constituted to store the response time (T). In this way an alarm system of a medical device is provided which allows to improve the users awareness to the occurrence of an alarm condition.
