Described herein are oral care compositions comprising an orally acceptable carrier； an abrasive system comprising a calcium-based abrasive； and a core shell silica particle comprising； a metal silicate； and a silica particle comprising a core having a surface； wherein the metal silicate is chemically bound to a surface of the silica core； and wherein the metal silicate comprises a silicate of a divalent metal ion.
