A stabilization device for stabilizing bones of a vertebra is provided, the stabilization device comprising a first rod (1), a second rod (2), a rod connector (3) connecting the first rod and the second rod, the rod connector comprising a receiving portion (4) for receiving the first rod and a fixation element (7) for fixing the first rod in the receiving portion, wherein in the receiving portion a rod contacting surface is provided and wherein the contour of this rod contacting surface has deviations (89) from the contour of the surface of the first rod. The rod connector allows to connect a flexible rod, for example made of an elastomer material, with a rigid rod, made for example of a metal.
