Process for filling of beverages comprising interior drinking straw: inline microwave pasteurization of beverage: vaporized hydrogen peroxide treatment of packaging; vaporized hydrogen peroxide treatment of straw; assembly and fixation of straw inside packaging; temperature adjustment of pasteurized beverage and cold filling into treated packaging; and sealing of the packaging. Preferably, vaporized hydrogen peroxide treatment is inline using dry gas process for 5-100 seconds, and is directed into straw using convection. Preferably, microwave pasteurization is performed for 20-150 seconds at 70-100°C, and cold filling at 5-25°C. Preferably, heat recovered from temperature adjustment is used to heat beverage before pasteurization. Preferably, packaging is multilayer pouch, beverages are water, milk juices or smoothies, and straw is made from PE or PP.
